Shannelle speaks and teaches about the importance of finding your voice after trauma and hardship, and what it takes take back the crown to a healthy and happy life.

The Wall Street Journal Covered Whistleblower Story. “I see you, I hear you, I am you.” / E12

In this new episode, listeners will meet a very brave woman. Sophia Lewis is extremely courageous, beautiful, smart and successful. The Wall Street Journal article described Sophia's story the following way: "Her career was on the rise, then she began telling her bosses about questionable practices, then "things started going downhill"". 
After being a courageous whistleblower and experiencing an unfair situation, today Sophia is working on her future books, as well as helping others. 
There seems to exist a very interesting phenomena, seen in many organizations in the present day: no matter how good employees can be, if at any point they become inconvenient, they are being pushed out of the organization and most often, good employees would receive sudden bad performance reviews.
After hearing stories such as this, the very common issue that comes to surface is: the existence of Integrity Risk and Culture Risk at many organizations. And of course, the absolute relevance here, of the famous axiom: "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely". 
The obvious conclusion here, is that often organizations are lacking the necessary culture and mindset training, needed to help out with the Integrity Risk Management and Culture Risk Management. Food for thought.

However, in 2020, a bizarre sequence of events unfolded for a once well-respected black Corporate American catalyst who recalls how “things took a horrible turn” after which she was terminated by her employer for speaking up on unethical sales tactics by fellow American Express employees.Sophia decided to let this rejection be her re-direction with her focus and purpose being helping other black women in Corporate America navigate in a world that doesn’t "look like us or look out for us." Approximately three years removed from enduring arguably her toughest obstacle as a Corporate America professional, Sophia has erected an empowerment platform to share her array of work-related experiences, as well as provide coaching on ways to advance in Corporate America when the odds are not in your favor.  Acknowledging that she’s destined to “turning my pain into purpose,” Sophia’s featured business venture is centered largely on and becoming what she deems the B.O.S.S. which stands for: Building Other Sistah’s Strength, because as she says it “I see you, I hear you, I am you.”
